Inspired by Nostalgia, Joy & Family.

Last spring I was visiting my father when we stumbled upon a ceramic tile that my Grandmother had collected on her travels to Brazil… my Mother’s home country.

It was a simple off-white tile with playful indigo blue flowers, leaves and stems… and some cute ladybugs.

I loved the whimsy and movement and simplicity of the design.

I always travel with a small bag of art supply.

That night, inspired to play with the shapes and develop it forward, I started to paint my own rendition of it.

After vacation, I took the work and inspiration back to New York where I continued to paint and play for a while…

…The work grew more bold and colorful with each iteration until a mini collection of six special artworks were born.

Iridescent watercolor original artworks hand painted on the finest black paper… glowing with life and wonder.

I think they brighten up any space, also adding just a touch of magic.

They’re also a great reminder to follow your creative curiosity… you never know what magic will result from it.
